Fear of Failure

Trial and error are usually the main means of solving life’s problems. Still many people are afraid to go through the trial because they’re too afraid of experiencing the error. They make the mistake of believing that all error is wrong and harmful, when most of it is both helpful and necessary. Error provides the answers that points the way to success.

Sanuel Smiles once said "We learn wisdom from failure much more than success. We often discover what we will do, by finding out what we will not do."

I, at times, fear failing. I like to win and achieve high standards. This at times makes me terrified of failure. When a positive trait, like achievement, becomes too strong in someone’s life, it’s on the way to becoming a major handicap. I know error pushes me to put together a new and better trial, leading me through yet more errors and trials until i can ultimately find a viable and creative solution. To meet with an error is not to fail, but to take one more step on the path to final success. No errors means no successes either.

Everyone likes to succeed. I know i do!!!! The problem comes when fear of failure is great. When you can no longer accept the chance of making mistakes, or recognize the importance of trial and error in finding the best and most creative solution. The more creative you are, the more errors you are going to make. Deciding to avoid the errors will destroy your creativity as well.

We hear a lot about being positive. We all want to be positive all of the time. Maybe we also need to recognize that the negative parts of our lives and experience have just as important a role to play in finding success, in work and in life.

Real Friendship

What is the meaning of friendship? We have often sought answers to this questions, yet we have never come up with an adequate answer. This is because friendship is a mixture of beautiful and complex feelings, which may not often be described in words. Defining a friend is never easy, as there are so many parts to it. However we don't need a bunch of words to make us realize the deep meaning of friendship.

Henri nouwen said "The friend who can be silent with us in a moment of despair or confusion, who can stay with us in an hour of grief and bereavement, who can tolerate not knowing... not healing, not curing... that is a friend who cares."

i try to suround myself with friends that care about who i am as a person and like me for me. Its great to have friends who know when to be sincere when it needed. Friends who arent sincere and dont help your through conflicts arent friends who are going to be around very long. a real friendship is a unique blend of affection, loyalty, love, respect, and trust. Similar interests, mutual respect and strong attachment with each other are what friends share between each other. These are just the general traits of a friendship.

A friend needs to be very understanding and give each other the benefit of the doubt. Ideally the meaning of friendship is sharing passion for each other. However this is not an ideal world, therefore some form of expectations are allowed, but that has a limit too. The purpose and meaning of friendship is to make life's burdens lighter for our friends and not make them heavier.

Who Am I?

Life is a mystery. E. Morin states this when he once said "Who am I?" Maybe you've never even asked yourself this question. You might think you already know who you are. Unfortunately, however, it's likely that you don't know who you are at all. And if you don't know your real identity, you're in trouble. You'll spend your life in a kind of dream state—you'll falsely identify yourself as something or someone you aren't. Then, on the basis of this false identification, you'll determine the goals of your life and the purpose of your existence. You use these goals to gauge whether you are making "progress" in life, whether you are a "success." And you are aided and abetted in this delusion by a complex network of relationships with other dreamers. Of course, at death (and sometimes before), the whole thing turns into a nightmare
The anguish of death hangs over and leads the human spirit to wonder about the mysteries of existence, man’s destiny, life, the world."
The choices we make are based on our identity, but at the same time every choice we make determine who we are. We are who we create ourselves to be. Everything we do and every decision we make contributes to who we are. I always find myself questioning who i am, who i am becoming. I know who i am by the choices i have made throught my life. I know who i am through the good decisions and bad decision i have made. I also think about what decesions and choices i will make in the future. These decisions i made, and are making, are molding me into my own person and the person other people see.
